ACCESS POINTS:
River Walk at Miamisfort Park

Managed by the Peru City Parks Department, a multi-block river walk adjacent to the Wabash River offers hand-carry access. There are drinking fountains along the river walk, and Miamisfort Park offers restrooms, a playground, a picnic area, and a parking lot. There is also more access to potable water.

Also along the river walk, there is a nice gravel ramp near the fire department that is used to launch a swift water rescue boat. It is unclear whether the public can launch from this ramp or not.

From the river you first see the fire & rescue gravel ramp on the right bank near a sewer pipe. A little further downstream, on the right bank near a small stone pillar, is better access right by Miamisfort Park.

Important: The river is constantly changing. Hazards like log jams and tree falls will come and go often, so always be ready for them. Even islands and riverbends come and go over time. Riffles and sandbars will appear and disappear based on water flow levels. Do not attempt boating on this or any river during high water. Please be safe, respectful and responsible on the river.
