If you do not have Google Earth loaded on your computer, then you need to download it:

Download Google Earth here

Once you have downloaded Google Earth then click below to open the Wabash River access point file.

If you have Google Earth already loaded on your computer, then all you need to do is click below and open the Google Earth file below. If you do have Google Earth then make sure that you update your version. ( click Help - check for updates online )

EASILY PLAN YOUR TRIP BY USING GOOGLE EARTH FEATURES

Google Earth enables you to:

  • get directions to and from any of the access points
    • in Google maps in your Places area, just right click on any access point and left click on “directions to or from here”  Soon I will figure out how to add the “directions to” and “directions from” buttons to the balloon.
  • easily do a flying tour of any number of Wabash Access Points
    • in Google maps in your Places area, check only the access points you wish to see then click the play button at the bottom at the bottom of the Places section.
  • easily see a crisp aerial photo of every access point
    • in Google maps in your Places area, just double click on any of the access points.
  • view additional information about what services are available near the river
    • in Google maps in your Layers area, just check the box next to the additional info you wish to view.

THE ACCESS POINTS ARE COLOR CODED FOR CONVENIENCE

A yellow marker represents a public boat ramp
A blue marker represents a pay-to-launch boat ramp
A pink marker represents a hand carry access site
 
 
Important: The river is constantly changing. Hazards like log jams and tree falls will come and go often, so always be ready for them. Even islands and riverbends come and go over time. Riffles and sandbars will appear and disappear based on water flow levels. Do not attempt boating on this or any river during high water. Please be safe, respectful and responsible on the river.
